"Mumma at Home" is part of my ongoing series, The Time Traveler's Parents. Because my parents do not have any photographs from their childhood and youth, this project is an exploration of their word-of-mouth memories. This piece reimagines a quiet, everyday ritual: my mother sitting at her dresser, combing her Rapunzel-length hair into a long braid, draped in a crisp, perfectly pleated cotton saree.
