Sundari is a Hindi word used to describe stunning, beautiful women.
Rida or Hrida is the traditional attire worn by Dawoodi Bohri Muslim women. They are often colourful and personalised by the wearers. The best part being almost each piece has a DIY element to them, from a crochet lace or an embroidered flower. They are vibrant, bright and cheery garments, an expression of the happy souls adorning them. For this embroidery I was inspired by a picture of Arva Chataiwala & her sister Zainab Chataiwala, rocking the Hrida in full glory. I love how traditional attire can become a playground for fashion and fun.
