"Mumma in College" is part of my ongoing series, The Time Traveler's Parents. Because my parents do not have any photographs from their childhood and youth, this project is an exploration of their word-of-mouth memories. This piece is a recreation of my mother's days studying at BHU with her friends. It captures a time when religion, caste, and creed didn't dictate the love people had for one another, and sisterhood was stronger than any man-made boundaries.
